Jon Flanagan Calls For Anfield Support

Flanno wants to hear the Kop roar
Local lad Jon Flanagan has been turning heads since finding himself a regular in the Liverpool starting eleven. With Glen Johnson still on the treatment table, the 21-year old is expected to get the nod when Arsenal visit Anfield tomorrow, and the born and bred Red is looking for the Reds faithful to play their part in making sure the hosts end their home misery against the Gunners.

“Our fans are going to be massive again for us” Flanagan told the official site in the build up to tomorrow’s meeting with the top of the table side. “They have got to play their part as they always do, but on Saturday we’ll be ready and hopefully we can get the win.”

The Reds have enjoyed an immense run in front of their fans with a single draw blighting a run of ten wins in all competitions. Arsene Wengers side will be looking to put a stop to that though with the North London side enjoying an unbeaten streak on Merseyside that stretches all the way back to Spring 2007.

“We are playing really well at home and hopefully we can go out and get a result on Saturday” enthused the Scouse fullback. “All of the team are working hard just to get the results. We know how important the top four is for this club to be in, but we are just working hard and we hope that can continue.”

With cross-town rivals Everton hot on their heels, the Reds will be looking to consolidate their top four credentials ahead of a midweek trip to London. “If we want to get into the top four we have got to push on now and hopefully get something out of Arsenal then hopefully take three points at Fulham on Wednesday” continued Flanagan. “We will prepare right as always. For myself personally I have got to get in the zone, try not to make many mistakes and not let anyone down.”

Sounds like a decent game plan – but he might want to add “keep an eye on Kolo Toure” to that list.
