The head tennis matches in Liverpool training are becoming a thing of legend and another epic round played out in the lead up to Sunday’s trip the Emirates Stadium with youngster Raheem Sterling the one to finally make a mistake and end the long running rally.
Played much like volleyball, the five a side game of head tennis allows the players to use any part of their body — barring their hands or arms — to keep the ball in motion. Based on the video, it’s pretty evident that this particular exercise is a big hit on the training ground.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said he wouldn’t be making any major changes to the squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to North London. After trashing the Gunners 5-1 last Saturday, the Merseysiders will be looking to progress to the next round of the FA Cup by turning the screw against Arsenal tomorrow. Thankfully, there were no injuries in this particularly heated match — just a mess up from Raheem Sterling that lead to his side conceding a point.
If he plays, we’re sure the youngster will be more on point tomorrow. He did score a brace against the Gunners last time out…
