Daniel Sturridge Expected to Face Queens Park Rangers

See you soon

Liverpool found a reprieve from their poor run of form yesterday when they downed West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at Anfield yesterday, and the good news just keeps on coming with the club confirming that striker Daniel Sturridge should be ready to face Queens Park Rangers following the international break.

The 25-year old, who was ruled out for three weeks after pulling up with a thigh problem while training for England, has yet to return for the Reds despite rejoining the group in training. Sturridge was left out of Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson’s latest squad with the understanding that he’s not yet fit enough to return to the international set-up surprisingly taken into account by the England supremo.

“I was hoping he would be but he wasn’t” said Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers when asked if the injured hit-man was close to featuring against the Baggies. “But certainly from now, he’ll have the course of the international break to get ready, and he’ll be fine for QPR.”

Sturridge, who just signed a new five year deal with the Anfield outfit, has been sorely missed in the Reds set-up. Although Rodgers brought in a number of new faces to aid their attack over the summer, many of them have failed to settle quickly on Merseyside with Mario Balotelli singled out by the Northern Irishman for failing to adapt to Liverpool’s high intensity tactics. While many of us aren’t ready to start ruling out players quite yet, the return of the 25-year old will certainly help get things back to normal — you know, where we score goals and win games?
