Roberto Firmino Bids Hoffenheim Farewell, Looks Forward to Reds Success
Although he won’t be meeting up with his new team for the start of their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East, following the Brazilian’s exploits at the Copa America, new Liverpool signing Roberto Firmino took a few moments away from a well deserved vacation to talk about his future.
“First and foremost, I’m looking forward to the new challenge and I’m excited to see what the Premier League has to offer,” said the 23-year old. “Of course everything will once again be new to me at the start. I’m going to have to get used to a new playing style, but I’ll also get the opportunity to improve my game even further there,” he continued. “Obviously I’d like to establish myself as a starter in my new team and go on to celebrate a lot of success at Liverpool.”
The Reds have been busy in the transfer market this season with six new signings coming in the door thus far, but Firmino has been the only one attaining marquee status with a transfer fee that could rise to as high as £29mil. Although he’s got a bright future ahead of him, the Brazilian remains humble and has shown his appreciation for the Hoffenheim fans and coaching team.
“I’ve had four great years here. In terms of my football, I’ve learnt a lot of new things and I’ve had some fantastic life experiences too. My time and the people here in Kraichgau will always have a place in my heart,” explained the Brazilian. “Moving from Brazil to Europe was a big adventure for me. I obviously had my doubts, but in hindsight it couldn’t have gone any better,” he said. “Moving from Brazil to Europe was a big adventure for me.
