We talked about it over a year ago, but now the rumours that had every Red in North America salivating have come to fruition. Earlier today, the Liverpool hierarchy confirmed a pre-season friendly with AS Roma at Boston’s Fenway Stadium on the 25th of July as part of a tour of the USA that will include at least one more competitive match. It’s been a number of years since Steven Gerrard and the boys made their way across the pond and the news will be met with a sense of euphoria in a bewilderment at the odd looking pitch. Fenway Park, home of the FSG owned Boston Red Sox, is celebrating it’s 100th birthday this year and the visit of the famous Kopites will be one of many events to mark it’s centenary. The News Desk will have more on this if and when tickets are in our greedy little hands.
