Liverpool Granted Coutinho Work Permit

That’s our boy!
There were a few nerves popping up with the transfer window closing tomorrow evening, but the News Desk can now confirm that Liverpool have completed the signing of 20 year old Philippe Coutinho from Inter Milan for £8.5mil.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been mum on the talented Brazilian since news first leaked that the two teams had finally come to an agreement on a fee as the Merseysiders waited on a work permit from the Home Office. After completing a medical at Melwood on Monday and agreeing to personal terms on Tuesday, the bureaucrats came through with that all important piece of paper earlier this afternoon. The versatile midfielder, who can play a range of positions, joins Daniel Sturridge as the new kids on Kop as the Reds look to boost their ranks and firepower ahead of a crucial end of the season run in. The Gaffer mentioned that we had “a few players” in our sights; if anyone else is coming in – like Reading target Thomas Ince – the club will need to act fast before the window slams shut.
