VIDEO: Suso vs Valencia

Sometimes loans don’t work out so well and sometimes they’re exactly what the doctor ordered. Earlier in the month Liverpool youngsters Michael Ngoo and Joao Carlos Teixeira both had their loans cut short after failing to nail down any sort of playing time while away from home. Pepe Reina is enjoying his time in Italy, Jack Robinson got sent off for Blackpool and Andre Wisdom impressed on his derby debut, but there’s little doubt that the most successful – and not surprising – Liverpool loanee thus far has been Suso who’s spending the season at Spanish Primera División side Almería.

The Andalusian side may be at the foot of the table, but last night they secured a vital win against heavy hitters Valencia with Suso putting in another key-performance. At the end of last month the youngster scored his first goal for his adopted side with a nice as you’d like shot from distance against Levante and this month he’s playing creator with his inswinging corner landing perfectly on the head of Argentinian defender Torsiglieri to level the score.

Vidal would find the net for the winner less than 12 minutes later and Almería secured their first win of the season with Suso securing his 4th assist in only 10 matches. Regular time on the pitch is serving the 19-year old well, but if he keeps playing this good, we may have to forcefully convince Almería to give him back…

Not his best game this season, but still some nice touches and looked dangerous. Keep in mind he was ill with a virus over the weekend. He’ll be so much more mature if he plays the rest of the season at a similar standard, then back to melwood to find out what role he plays in the liverpool first team next season!
