Mamadou Say Relax
Liverpool’s 2-0 reversal at the hands of Chelsea last Sunday may have thrown in wrench in the smooth turning cogs of the big red machine, but Mamadou Sakho is keeping a cool head going into Monday’s all important meeting with Crystal Palace — and he thinks you should too.
“Everything is going well, we are fine. Everything is cool,” the French defender told Liverpool’s official website. “We have to remain calm and relaxed. Like I said, everything is going well, even though we lost that game. But that defeat, it’s in the past now, it’s behind us.” Picking up all six points from the last two matches of the season is even more vital than ever as the Anfield faithful keep their fingers crossed for a Manchester City slip-up.
The Citizens, who have a match in hand and a superior goal difference, can snatch the title if they win their final three matches. Despite that heart-wrenching fact, Sakho is keeping his head clear. “We now have to focus on what’s ahead of us, meaning the next two games” he continued. “And we mustn’t change anything, we should remain true to ourselves and play our own game and then try and win those two matches so we can grab those six points.”
The Frenchman is expected to keep his place in the starting eleven ahead of vice-captain Daniel Agger for Monday’s trip to the Capital and he’s called on the travelling Kop to keep encouraging the players. “The support is fantastic. This is the Liverpool family. The supporters are very, very important for the team and the club” enthused Sakho. “Throughout this season, we’ve both been equally valuable. The supporters have been fantastic all season but so have the players, it’s been a joint effort, so we can thank them and they can thank us.”
