FC Utrecht Express Kristoffer Peterson Interest

Heading for the Netherlands?

After impressing during Liverpool’s pre-season fixture list, Kristoffer Peterson looks set to leave the club on loan for the season with Dutch side FC Utrecht rumoured to be interested in securing his services.

The 19-year old winger bagged goals against both Brondby and Preston North End, garnering praise from Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and a plane ticket to America in the process. “They know that if they do well and show the personality and commitment to play for Liverpool [they’ll get a chance] – and they’re here because they have quality” said the Northern Irishman of his crop of youngsters. For example, young Kristoffer Peterson has come in and got two goals. I said to him, ‘You’ll now come to America on the back of what you’ve done in your training’. That’s what I always judge players on.”

Despite showing the kind of promise and commitment that Rodgers is looking for, Peterson doesn’t look to be part of his plans for the upcoming campaign and looks set to loaned — something that has peaked the interest of FC Utrecht manager Rob Alflen. “I’ve seen him work as a striker, but then you put too much on him” he said of the 19-year old to Dutch media outlet Algemeen Dagblad. “On the flanks he is threatening, he has power and he is definitely a good one.”

During last season, Peterson spent time at League One side Tranmere Rovers on a one month youth loan where he impressed then manager Ronnie Moore. Based on his pre-season form, where ever he ends up this year, he’s sure to add a touch of quality to the side.
