Liverpool have been busy behind the scenes lately; Daniel Sturridge has signed a new five year deal, there are rumours floating around that Steven Gerrard will be handed an extension, Raheem Sterling is in talks over extending his time on Merseyside and now Jordan Henderson looks to be the next in line to top up his contract.
The newly minted vice-captain has been in fine form this year despite their slow start to the season. The 24-year old has been a major part of Reds boss Brendan Rodgers plans since forcing his way into the Northern Irishman’s plans. While away on England duty, Henderson has confirmed that he wants to stay at Anfield for a long time.
“I am just concentrating on playing football. I am not worried about that,” said the midfielder when asked about extending his contract. “I am enjoying my football, I love this club and I want to be here for many years so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’ll let my agent sort that out, it’s nothing to do with me.”
