From Germany: Liverpool could move to sign 26 goals/assists striker – Not Werner
Liverpool should improve the quality and depth of their strike-force in the summer transfer window and they are linked with two German forwards.
Few days back, Leipzig’s CEO confirmed that there is a possibility that Timo Werner could decide to join Klopp at Anfield (BuliNews). However, the focus of this post is not on the 23-year-old star. In fact, a new name is in the focus in the form of Max Kruse.
According to Sport1, the 31-year-old center forward is on Klopp’s radar and Liverpool have inquired about information on luring him.
Transfer Story – Report – Liverpool favourites to secure signing of forward
At Anfield, Klopp has mainly used Firmino in the No.9 position but he does not run behind the defenders, instead, he most plays in the False No. 9 role.
In the backup, Liverpool have Sturridge, who is past his best and must be allowed to leave, and Origi, who has done well lately but overall, he is just OK. So, the depth must be improved.
Kruse is naturally a striker and he has proved to be effective in the role of a secondary striker as well.
The veteran star had an impressive campaign with Werder Bremen. In all competitions, he featured in 36 games and directly contributed in 26 goals (12 goals and 14 assists).
The Reds are not renowned for spending on players over the age of 30 and it must be noted that Kruse’s current contract with the Bundesliga club will expire at the end of next month. He is leaving and could be lured for free. So, I think signing a proven talent on a Bosman is not a bad option. What do you think?
