Gylfi Goes on Holiday

Macramé? I’m actually more of a needlepoint man…
The News Desk is taking some time off today to relax in the sun and rumor has it that Liverpool target Gylfi Sigurdsson will be doing the same after being granted an extended vacation by Hoffenheim. Between playing underwater polo and working on his big macramé project, the Icelandic midfielder may also find a moment or two to sort out his future as this little break comes with a ticking clock. Hoffenheim have given him until the 30th of June to figure out if he’ll be staying in Germany or making a permanent switch to the bright lights of the Premier League. It’s been the same old story for weeks now with Gylfi agreeing to terms with Swansea, where he impressed during a loan spell last season, but stalling on completing the move after Brendan Rodgers left Wales for the vacant Anfield hot seat. The new Reds boss have vowed not to step into the fray until Swansea have a crack at convincing Gylfi that the Liberty Stadium is where he should be plying his trade, but with his move to Wales seeming more and more unlikely, it looks like only a matter of time until Rodgers is bulk ordering Advil to help with his new selection headache.
