Fulham Deny Dempsey Reds Switch
Denial is a normal part of the grief process; this morning, Fulham denied that Clint Dempsey had joined Liverpool. While there’s probably one or two of you out there who are doing the same, it’s time to move onto the next stage: anger. It’s alright if the Cottagers are angry about losing one of their top players to another Premier League side; this happens all the time. It’s also alright to be angry that both clubs have disowned the article that appeared on Fenway Sports Group’s website. These things happen and usually lead to the bargaining stage. It’s been reported in recent weeks that Brendan Rodgers was looking to add the £10mil rated USA international, who scored 23 times in 46 appearances last season, to the squad before their pre-season tour of North America kicked off. It’s safe to say that this hasn’t yet happened, but it’s going to. Sections of both sets of fans may now be experiencing depression. If you need to talk about it, we have a comments section where you can let your feelings be known, but be warned: the next stage is acceptance and we’re all going to have to get used to this sooner or later.
As my reaction, “NewsDesk”, was actually bemusement, then, well, nothing…until I read your article, I’ll be the one to ask the obvious question: why is it that you think signing Clint Dempsey is something to be depressed about?
Jesus, BR is really lacking ambition if he is contemplating Dumpsey, a player who deffo wouldn’t make it into any CL team, even if he was 5 years younger. Just look at your pool of kids Brendan fa fksake, there is plenty of talent waiting to be elevated, don’t waste time low-flying with an ageing Yank who will only block their progress.
Mind you, if they’d take ‘Hollywood’ in exchange, that would be worth considering cos he contributes choice to our game, in fact, he’s a liability on the ball and off it.
How would clint dempsey NOT be a good addition? Last year our squad was crying out for a finisher. There were so many chances that no one took advantage of. Our play warranted a finish a couple of spots higher than where we ended up, but we couldnt find the goals. Dempsey is a proven goal scorer, no doubt about it.
Dempsey scores goals. Something LFC was inept at last season.
after conferring with Mr. Desk, it appears the post was modeled after the
Kübler-Ross model http://goo.gl/CB04 as a joke…, which begs the obvious question: wouldn’t Fulham fans be depressed to lose him?
he’s a bit long in the tooth to really fit into the FSG model of player, but he scores some goals.
