The second stage: AngerDenial is a normal part of the grief process; this morning, Fulham denied that Clint Dempsey had joined Liverpool. While there’s probably one or two of you out there who are doing the same, it’s time to move onto the next stage: anger. It’s alright if the Cottagers are angry about losing one of their top players to another Premier League side; this happens all the time. It’s also alright to be angry that both clubs have disowned the article that appeared on Fenway Sports Group’s website. These things happen and usually lead to the bargaining stage. It’s been reported in recent weeks that Brendan Rodgers was looking to add the £10mil rated USA international, who scored 23 times in 46 appearances last season, to the squad before their pre-season tour of North America kicked off. It’s safe to say that this hasn’t yet happened, but it’s going to. Sections of both sets of fans may now be experiencing depression. If you need to talk about it, we have a comments section where you can let your feelings be known, but be warned: the next stage is acceptance and we’re all going to have to get used to this sooner or later.
